Septic Services

Septic tanks are a common wastewater treatment option for people in more rural areas who don’t have access to a municipal sewer.

Our knowledgeable drivers can usually be there within the day to pump your tank and answer any questions you have regarding your septic system. If you want to ask questions about your septic system before scheduling a pump, please call our office at 859-282-7700.

Got-A-Go recommends pumping your septic tank every 1-3 years. This number can go up or down depending on a variety of factors such as the number of people in your household, what you’re flushing down your drains, whether or not your leach field is properly configured, amongst other things.

General tips include:

    • Use good quality toilet paper
      • Flushable wipes and high wet-strength paper are not suitable for a septic system
    • Using a garbage disposal will increase the need for a septic pump
      • Ground up garbage tends to find its way out of the septic tank and will plug up your leach/drain field
      • Got-A-Go recommends an annual septic service for regular users of garbage disposals
    • Be careful with particular soaps/detergents (especially bleach)
      • Bleach and particular strong detergents and soaps can kill the good bacteria in your septic system
      • This good bacteria is what breaks down the solids and allows your tank to successfully drain into the leach field
